Cognitive Behavioral Treatment

We at Doria Therapeutic Group (DTG) practice cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that emphasizes a practical approach to problem solving. The goal of this empirically proven form of psychotherapy is for patients to recognize negative beliefs or mindsets and replace them with positive thoughts, leading to more favorable behavior. Before formulating a therapeutic treatment plan, CBT will generally begin with a comprehensive psychiatric or psychological evaluation including an in-depth clinical interview, personality scales, and pathology assessment.

Individual

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training assists participants in the development and maintenance of a Critical Incident Stress Management team. Useful for anyone who wishes to know more about CISM crisis intervention techniques, this training will help prepare individuals to assist distressed co-workers and communities during a time of critical need. CISM training is applicable to healthcare settings, educational settings, fire and EMS, law enforcement, small businesses, medium-to-large corporations, and government agencies.

The CISM training curriculum meets or exceeds all requirements and standards set forth by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, INC (ICISF). Participants receive an official ICISF Certificate of Attendance and become eligible for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) upon completion of a course.

Group

Group treatment sessions involve one or more therapists working with a set group of people. This gives patients the opportunity to share experiences, learn new perspectives, and experiment with new behaviors in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a powerful new psychotherapy technique which has been very successful in helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, panic, disturbing memories, post-traumatic stress and many other emotional problems. Until recently, these conditions were difficult and time-consuming to treat. EMDR is considered a breakthrough therapy because of its simplicity and the fact that it can bring quick and lasting relief for most types of emotional distress. EMDR is the most effective and rapid method for healing PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as shown by extensive scientific research studies.
