Mental Health Clinician

Amanda Lo, MA, MHC-LP is a Mental Health Clinician (Limited Permit) at Doria Therapeutic Group, PLLC. She is a compassionate, collaborative therapist who supports adults (18+) working through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, pregnancy loss, postpartum transitions, motherhood, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and major life or career changes. Amanda provides a warm, grounded space where patients can feel supported, understood, and empowered.

Amanda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and holds two Master’s Degrees—one in Mental Health Counseling from New York University and another in Quantitative Methods for the Social Sciences from Columbia University.  Before becoming a therapist, Amanda worked for many years in education research and business, including coaching a small team of researchers. Her experience with workplace stress, identity shifts, and high-performance environments deeply informs her clinical work, especially with patients navigating the pressures of balancing personal and professional roles.

With a strong foundation in research, Amanda incorporates periodic goal-setting and progress check-ins to help patients understand their growth over time and ensure therapy remains focused, meaningful, and effective.  Her therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and humanistic principles. Amanda believes every person has inherent strengths, sometimes hidden by stress or life circumstances, and she partners closely with patients to help them rediscover these strengths and move toward their best lives.

Outside of her clinical work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, exploring nature, and reading mystery novels.
